CV / Resume of Lisa-Robyn Keown

I help spiritual brands and conscious entrepreneurs maximise their impact and income. Below is the path that’s brought me to this point.

Lisa-Robyn Keown

Work Experience

Viva Luna Studios

(2020 – beyond)

Founder

After five years of operating under the brand name Copy & Code (which, as a copywriter and web designer, was a catchy name), I shifted my business so that my brand focus could align with my personal values.

I decided to shift direction to work with more heart-centred, conscious business owners and entrepreneurs who were driven by impact and elevating others, not just chasing profits. This shift attracted coaches, healers and educators, who have been an absolute joy to work with.

I’m obsessed with spirituality and am delighted to get to help brands working in this space. If you’re an astrologer, meditation guru, transformative coach, energy healer, card reader, personal development blogger or similar, you’re my dream client. Get in touch with me. Let’s make some magic.

Copy & Code

(2015 – 2020)

Founder

Copy and Code was my first ever foray into freelancing. I started working for myself in 2015, earning R 1000.00 (less than $ 100.00) a month. Over time, I’d built up a client base of amazing clients, some on retainer, some as repeat contracts.

Shelflife

(2013 – 2015)

Digital Marketing and Communications Manager

Shelflife is one of South Africa’s top sneaker and street wear retailers. I joined the team’s to run the eCommerce store, work on various marketing tasks (social, blog content) and assist with customer service. I have a pretty decent sneaker collection now; my fave pair of all time is the full-white Air Max 90.

Luxury Brands

(2013 -2013)

Digital Content and Social Media Manager

At Luxury Brands, I dipped my toes into the world of Public Relations (PR). I spent roughly six months at Luxury Brands, assisting with tasks on core accounts and tending to listings and social media pages of the Luxury Brands Directory; an online directory of, you guessed it, luxury brands.

Ogilvy SA

(2011 -2011)

Intern

This short month-long internship at one of Cape Town’s top advertising agencies was a ball of fun. I teamed up with an art director/graphic designer from advertising college and we worked together as an art and copy pair. Together, we shadowed two senior teams and saw creative work for brands like Volkswagen, Cadburys, Coca Cola and more come to life.

Education

Friends of Design Academy of Digital Arts

(2016 – 2016)

Part-Time Front End Web Publishing and Web Development

Completed a part-time course in web design and authoring. Fields of study included HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, jQuery, PHP, and a deep dive into the WordPress CMS.

Vega School of Brand Leadership

(2012 -2012)

Bachelor of Arts Postgraduate Degree in Strategic Brand Building and Brand-Led Communication

Dissertation topic: “The non-profit brand: Exploring the discordance between brand promise and brand building of education-based non-profit organisations in South Africa.

Vega School of Brand Leadership

(2008 -2011)

Bachelor of Arts Undergraduate Degree in Creative Brand Communications, Specialising in Copywriting

  • Activities and Societies: Vega Student Liaison Body, 2010 – 2011
  • Graduated with Distinction
  • Awarded ‘Shooting Star’ Undergraduate Achievement Award for Copywriting
